EMSC are happy to announce the acquisition of Dean Sewell to the Boys NPL staff program. A native of Kingston, Jamaica Dean brings vast experience and knowledge of the game to the players of EMSC.
He attended the St. Andrew Technical High School in Kingston, Jamaica.
Sewell started his playing career with Constant Spring Football Club in Kingston, Jamaica before moving to the United States. Dean attended college and played for the men’s soccer team at the University of Southern New Hampshire, New Hampshire. In 1995 he was named Male Athlete of the Year at the University and was also named an All American in 1995 and 1996.
His collegiate playing record boasts 53 appearances and 49 goals.
Dean Graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Administration in 1996.
Dean returned to his roots and played for the Constant Spring Football club between 1997 - 1999. He also held a contract with the Charleston Battery of the USL between 1999-2000 making 49 appearances, scoring 13 goals.
During this time Dean was a key member of the Jamaica Men’s National team.
He played for the Reggae Boyz between 1993 – 2001 earning 22 appearances and scoring one goal as primarily a defender and midfielder. He was named MVP of the World Cup Qualifying game versus Mexico in the campaign to the 1998 World Cup Finals of which he was a key squad member.
Dean has held assistant coaching positions with the Constant Spring Soccer Club, Jamaica and the Queensborough Community College. In youth soccer he has worked with the Bristol Wolves Soccer Club in Glastonbury, CT where he was the Head Coach of the U’15 – U’17 boys program.
